As the second largest sugarcane miller in the central Philippines, Capiz Sugar crushes nearly 5,300 tons of sugarcane every day. As a result, the hydraulic systems on its dumper trucks were getting contaminated, which led to rod scoring and seal failure.
Machinery Reliability Corp. of Muntinlupa City in the Philippines introduced Capiz Sugar to Seal Saver hydraulic cylinder boots to prevent costly downtime and repairs.
Capiz Sugar was able to control downtime associated with frequent rebuilding and re-chroming of its sugar truck dumper cylinders. They benefitted from extended cylinder life and preventing the intrusion of contaminants into the hydraulic system via wiper rods. This led to the prolonged life of all equipment components, resulting in less downtime and fewer expenses incurred for hydraulic maintenance repairs.
